Offshore Bank Account Opening from Afar

Even though it is becoming increasingly hard to settle, we always have plenty of solutions and partnerships with banks from different countries and jurisdictions, which allow us to open bank accounts even from remote destinations for the onshore/inshore companies of our clients.
One essential principle to keep in mind is that the bank reserves the right to accept or refuse any application.
As a matter of fact, Esmology Group cannot guarantee the time of process and the positive outcome of the application.
Nevertheless, we do our best to concretise the bank account opening for our clients. We provide full support until the opening of the account and if the application is refused, we try another bank. If we do not find a solution, we will refund your payment. (Please see our conditions.)

The Documents Necessary for Offshore Bank Account Applications

The majority of the banks that accept bank account opening from a distance without requiring interviews usually request for the following documents to complete the application:

- Copy of your passport or National ID Card

- Proof of address (e.g. utility bill such as water electricity internet or telecom)

- You resume/CV up to date with your academic and professional experiences

- If possible but not compulsory: A Reference letter of a banker/notary public/accountant/lawyer

All these documents have to be dated of less than 2 months. The documents allow the bank to verify the existence of the client and his solvency in order to limit any possible risks, as they will never really meet the client.

Some banks sometimes ask for additional documents or an interview at the closest local branch of the concerned bank to verify your identity.
The list of banks we deal with and their requirements may change at any moment and without advance warning.
Effectively, regarding the evolution and changes of international regulations, banks modify their requirements or their acceptance of bank account applications from a distance. In this case, we keep our client updated as well as look for alternative solutions. As a last resort, we give you a full refund of your payment.

Services Offered by Offshore and International Banks

Currencies: In general, banks provide bank accounts with the local currency of the country as well as offer other foreign currencies (e.g. USD, EUR). Nevertheless, this does not apply to US banks, which only deal with USD.

Internet banking facilities: Internet access is provided so that clients may check their balance and statements as well as carry out bank transfers via the Internet (except for banks in Mauritius)

Credit cards: All banks (except the Swiss bank) provide VISA and MasterCard cards that enable individuals to make payments over the Internet or in shops. These cards are authorized to withdraw up to 400/500 USD per day from ATMs.

All Visa/MasterCard cards are corporate ones and thus show the names of their owner and the company they are affiliated with.

Some banks may ask for a security deposit before you can use the card.

Cheques: We strongly advise against the use of cheques worldwide. Because of the problems related to currencies, fake cheques, and other reasons, cheques can become a big problem.

Based on experience with our clients, we strongly encourage you to use other payment options, such as bank transfer or online secure payments (One of our partners, www.cardipay.com is one suggestion.)

All international and offshore banks charge monthly fees (please budget 10 to 20 Euros per month) as well as transfer fees (please budget 10 to 35 Euros). There is also generally a 3 to 5 Euro charge for withdrawal from ATMs.

Offshore companies a small amount of tax or possibly even none, but this does not mean there are no expenses incurred, as you have to take into consideration the banking fees.

Client Support of Offshore Banks

Each offshore bank is assigned a person in charge of following up on your company account growth.

The responsibility of Esmology Group ends once your bank account is opened and you have received your bank account number. From this moment onwards, your relation with the bank becomes private and you must deal with them directly.

Almost all banks provide client support in English, while some have French (i.e. Canada, Mauritius) and Spanish speakers (i.e. Belize).
